A little bit of history: Najac, an important place of the Midi-Pyrénées, a green area and a village listed as one of the most beautiful villages of France. It is located on a summit a few miles from Villefranche-de -Rouergue, at the heart of the lands of Bastides du Rouergue.
The church Saint Jean at Najac is one of the first gothic churches of Rouergue.
Standing proudly on its hill is the castle of Najac, a royal fortress of the XIIth century that overhangs the campsite and the chalet hamlet.
The tourist office of Najac offers independent or guided visits of the village and the royal fortress.

At the village, you will find several shops: a bakery, restaurants, a tea room, groceries, day and night markets, car boot sales, bars and pubs, a tobacco store, an ATM, a post office, a tourist office*...
You will have the possibility to fish in the Aveyron. carps, rods and other white fish. A fishing route is arranged around Najac, with the possibility to fish carp during the night at less than half a mile from the campsite.
You may find 8 marked hiking trails around Najac on the way GR36/45 and the way of Saint James’ and the way GR65 among which three depart from the campground ! Please inquire at the reception and get yourself the maps!
A traditional market takes place every Sunday morning at the Place du Faubourg and every Wednesday evening in July and August.

half a mile from Najac away is the equestrian centre. It offers beginners’ lessons, an hour horse riding hacks, a day horse riding hacks or several days horse riding hacks. You are welcome at the minigolf where you will find 22 courses based on the symbolic of the cards of the traditional Tarot of Marseille that will guide you through three levels. Reflexion, dexterity, concentration and good humor are your allies along this ludic road. Ludic park, green and flowery. You will find there a refreshment stall with organic ice cream and sorbets. You have the possibility to organize birthday parties and group events for the day.
On the Gorb rocky area near Bor et Bar, 135 circuits for beginners and experienced people. You can find them on the maps of “Le Roc du Gorb”, to sell at the tourist office and at the AAGAC activity centre. Rock climbing session at the rocky area of Gorb supervised by the AAGAC activity centre.
